At Rainbow Roos, we make soccer fun and rewarding for children of all ages. Join us for exciting sessions that blend learning with entertainment, and watch your child's skills grow.

Our mission statement is passionate: "Empowering families, celebrating abilities and creating a community that values diversity and inclusion."

Rainbow Roos is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive soccer environment for kids and adults alike. Our programs are designed to foster a love for the game while developing essential skills. Join us in the journey of nurturing young talents and spreading the joy of soccer.

Community Focus

We are incredibly proud and honoured to be a local not-for-profit organisation, meaning that our over-arching purpose is to give back 100% of profits to the region in as many ways as possible, but particularly by eventually being able offer subsidised/free sessions to those in need. Our entire focus is to be able to provide enjoyable and fun soccer coaching throughout the Northern Rivers NSW. Access to quality and safe sports shouldn't have any restrictions. We aim to provide accessibility to as many children and families as possible, with absolutely no discrimination against age, gender, sexuality, background, upbringing, financial circumstances, ability and many more.

With your help and support we intend to grow Rainbow Roos to become the best soccer coaching and community engagement service in the whole of Australia. We understand the general needs of children and adults, we understand the challenges of varying disabilities and we understand the desires of parents. Together, there is absolutely no reason why we cannot put a smile on the face of everybody in the region.

Our Unique Approach

Forget everything that you remember about soccer coaching when you were growing up as a child. Forget all about the fear of being screamed at by the coach or, even worse, your parent. Forget about the worries of what would happen if you made a mistake. And definitely forget about not being able to bring out your real personality. We're here to change all of that and ensure that the next generation of young footballers actually enjoy the experience.

And how do we intend to do all of this?

  • The first and most important thing is to take the word ‘coach’ out of the game. Our role is simply summed up as a facilitator of fun, safe and engaging games. It's actually pretty simple - just let them play!

  • Create an environment that encourages children to freely express themselves.

  • Provide ample opportunities for children to experience success.

  • Encourage children to improvise and be creative with the ball at their feet.

  • Develop children’s passion and love of football.

Parental Encouragement

We get it, it's difficult to not get emotionally involved. We all want the best for our children and that can also mean getting frustrated (we're all human!) when things don't necessarily go as we planned in our own heads.

As parents, it is vitally important to remember the following key points:

  • They are still ‘clumsy’ (lacking fine motor skills), because they are still developing their coordination.

  • They have a short span of attention and are quickly and easily distracted.

  • They are ‘self-centred’ and not yet able to really work together (do not expect them to perform team play, it is impossible for them!)

  • They play or participate for fun with short bursts of energy and enthusiasm.

  • They are unable to handle a lot of information (instructions, feedback etc).

  • If you fast-forward to the next week, the only person who will remember how many goals they scored will be you!

  • Measure success by the size of their smile and their desire to come back again.

“I'm always trying to improve, to be a better

player than I was yesterday.”

— Cristiano Ronaldo
